Silver enamelled decorative bird approximately 2" high. Meenakari is the art of enamelling on metal, believed to have been introduced to India by Persian settlers. The city of Varanasi or Banaras, is famed for its Gulabi (Pink) meenakari. A painstaking process, a single piece of meenakari takes several days to prepare. Kajri is privileged to be associated with Balram Das, a national award-winning meenakari artist, who prepared five birds especially for us.
